Emo Makeup Don’ts

Emo Makeup Don’ts

We’ve all seen an emo kid try to pull these things off. But the fact is…it just doesn’t work. There is a point in time when you have to step up if you are going to express yourself. And the best way is by not making makeup mistakes.

1. Do not use pale white foundation. One or maybe two (and two is pushing it) shades lighter is alright. It can be managed. However, anything lighter or darker just look ridiculous. You can use a little bit of light translucent powder over your foundation to lighten it slightly—but you don’t need to look like a ghost.

2. Don’t have skin colored lips, unless you have them naturally. There is nothing more annoying than seeing someone with skin colored lips. Your lips normally have some sort of natural pink tint. You can use chapstick to achieve this or pretty much any other lip color you desire. Just don’t cover your lips, whatever you do!

3. Don’t have pencil thin eyebrows. There are very few emo kids that do this, but it really isn’t advisable. Let’s face it—it just looks downright silly. Try to follow the natural shape of your eyes or you can buy eyebrow stencils, fill them in with powder, and pluck around them. It’s ten times easier!

4. Go crazy with the eyeshadow at school. Parties? Yes. Concerts? Definitely. But at school…you really don’t need that much. You can still wear bright colors, but try to keep them at the crease-level and no further.

5. Thick eyeliner. You are not a raccoon, no matter how cute, fluffy, and/or klepto you may be. Try to keep the eyeliner under your eyes fairly thin. Even if you’re a guy, do this the same way a girl would—thin and moderate. If you want a little more color, smudge a little black eyeshadow on top. This will also darken the eyeliner without having to add two tons.

Emo Today

Emo Today

Emo is considered as a genre of music that has its roots in hardcore punk. This experimental form of music, which started as a mild movement during the mid-1980s has gone on to define a whole new category of associated fashion.

In today’s world, emo is considered as a style statement. However, it is not clear whether this contemporary fashion has emerged from the image of its original forefathers. In recent times the term ‘emo’ has been stereotyped with tight jeans on both males and females, long straight hair, brushed towards one side of the face and often covering either one eye or even both the eye in some cases. They are also categorized with tight t-shirts, which have the names of different emo bands imprinted on it. The studded belts, canvas sneakers, belt-buckles or even worn out shoes define their appearance. They are sometimes even seen with horn-rimmed spectacles. The earlier emo fashion has undergone a significant change, which included unparted hair, buttoned-down shirts, and tight–fitted sweaters or even work jacket.

Nowadays the popular media has stereotyped emo being emotional and sensitive. Their shy and introverted nature is thought to be the result of an internal angst, which keeps them in a state of continued depression, self-injury and suicidal tendencies. Anti-emo criticisms, which is quite prevalent nowadays, has led to surprising incident where emo teenagers were beaten up in the Mexico city in the earlier part of the year 2008. Some of the popular emo brands include Emo Adeline, Rockett and Heartcore clothing.

Music for the Emo Kids

Music for the Emo Kids

Music is an essential factor over whether or not a kid is Emo. You can have the right clothes, accessories and makeup and even the right attitude but without the right taste in music, the style just will not be complete.

Two of the biggest bands that have been associated with the Emo style are that of “My Chemical Romance” and “Panic! At the Disco.” These bands have very thought of lyrics which are sad and somber in nature and fit theemotional side of Emo perfectly. There are both upbeat and slower songs that have come from both of these bands proving that the Emo lifestyle is not all about sadness and depression.

“Fallout Boy” is another group which has been closely linked with the Emo lifestyle as are “Funeral of a Friend” and “Paramore.” The latter of the two has a female lead singer that is very typical of the Emo style but with bright red hair rather than black.

If you are a beginner to Emo music then these bands would be the great place to start and from this starting point you can then go ahead and find your own favorite bands. Of course you can always communicate with friends and other Emo followers on the internet to find out the best bands that everyone of the Emo life seems to be following but it is always best to find your own path and your own style of music.

Emo Makeup Tips for Girls 2011

Emo Makeup Tips for Girls 2011

Emo makeup for girls and guys is very different. Guys usually stick to a little bit of eyeliner and no more. Girls however, go all out. So what exactly do emo girls wear?

First of all, foundation is usually worn, unless you have a baby doll complexion. If not, most emo girls try to simulate one. Make sure to blend it all the way down your neck. Cover-up or concealer can also be used, but this depends mainly on how flawed your skin is. Honestly, if you have horrible acne and scars everywhere, concealer probably won’t do much for you. It’s best to let your skin breathe instead.

Next, eye makeup. Eye makeup is the most essential thing when it comes to any makeup, but especially emo makeup. Emo makeup can be dark and dramatic or it can be neon and bright and just way out there. It is up to the girl’s personal preference. The main thing to remember is that this makeup doesn’t have to be bright all the time.

A tip for really fair skinned girls: Don’t wear black eyeshadow alone. It makes you look sick. Instead, take a color you really like that is sparkly or iridescent and layer it on top just enough to change the color. Just that little layer is enough to add color to your face.

Lastly, add a little bit of color to your lips. Nude lips are nice, but if you are already using a paler foundation than your skin you will end up looking washed out.

About "EMO"

about More About Emo
Close enough to punk and rock Emo is now know for it's more emotional state of mind. Instead of the anger hard-core way of expressing one-self , Emo (short for emotional) has taken a new tole on the twentith century of expressing yourself. From the music with strong emotion and feeling, unlike hard rock or this is more of an alternative way to let your feeling be known.Emo is not only a classification or a type of music it's also taken over the way one expresses themself by dressing. It includes the tighter fiting pants to the dyed-black or dark hair with it covering your face. The longer hair in front with the spikes in the back is also a more Emo- or emotional look to dressing. Emo is also being known as for the hot emo guys and emo girls kissing. From pictures all on the web to the music videos. Hot emo girl to girl and well as hot emo guy to guy is becoming more and more adventurous and more open concluding; Emo meaning being comfortable with oneself. Its a more direct way of altering the feelings one has without words, just emotion.

Some say music is not a type of music. That it is more of a fashion and a way of feeling, hence the emotional. Just recently people have been considering emo to be a genre or music.. Taking back Sunday is one of the many bands people consider to be emo.

Wondering why everyone hates emo? Not all emo people are cry babies or sucidial. Many emo kids come from families which are having serious issues whether it being money issues or what have you

What is emo to mean to you? Send us what it means to you and we will add your description.

Emo,yes it is short for emotional. But,there is more to emo then hair and looks. Emo is a state of mind. Most people, made them selves appear emo. While in reality, they have to much hope to be emo. Emo is much like goth. But,goth is Darker. Emo is more emotional, harder to fake. Yes,some emos cut themselves, but there is more than that. Emo is one of the hardest things,to explain. People hate emos,b/c they view us as suicidal, cry babies,or just week. That's NOT what emo is. Suicidal yes,at times. But,don't judge me for being emo. It's not what I chose to be. It's just what I am.

Another says....

I think emo is just another label, but my definition of it will be for real.Personally,i used to cut,but I stopped.Take it from me.It's hard to stop!I am bi,but I'm not afraid of it!People shouldn't judge us for what we do and who we are.Emo is a music genre, but also a state of mind.If you're emo, don't be afraid of it.It's just who you are! It's perfectly normal to have a sensitive side, although I'm sassy sometimes.I'm really sensitive when 90% of the time.I love being who I am,though I get bullied alot.I don't care.Well,in my opinion, emo is just how people describe over-sensitive people.I write tons of poetry, and I'm in middle school.I am not ashamed to say I like girls, ever since I was 9,I have liked girls.I can't help how I feel! But over the summer,I've changed a bit.I'm not AS sensitive, but I still am.I don't let people put me down.Emo is just about being sensitive and expressing how you feel about something. If you get suicidal thoughts, talk to someone, trust me!Don't make the mistake I did.I am a lot better off without blades.
